25 years later, Walkerton, Ont., bears the scars but has bounced back

Trudy Fraser spent four weeks at the hospital bedside of her daughter Allyssa, who was 17 in 2000 when the town's water system was contaminated with E. coli. Allyssa is now 42 and continues to live with the health effects from the contamination, including reduced kidney function.

It’s been 25 years since Walkerton, Ont., made headlines after its water system became contaminated with E. coli in a tragedy that killed seven people and sickened thousands more.
