The Quebec government’s decision to ask the provincial Court of Appeal to rule on the constitutionality of a new federal law aimed at ensuring Indigenous communities have jurisdiction over children in care is being slammed by AFN Regional Chief Ghislain Picard as “a shameful decision … on the backs of our children” that smacks of colonialism.
